Make Art Happen
Welcome to our crowd funding project to raise vital funds for the 2017 Spring Arts Show in beautiful Beechworth, North East Victoria. This campaign is a collaborative initiative of Beechworth Arts Council and Regional Arts Victoria and will run online, 24/7 from 5 June to 3 July with the aim of raising $2000 for the 2017 Beechworth Spring Arts Show.
So why do we need this money? Beechworth Arts Council is a community based, not for profit organization, supporting art and artists in and around Beechworth. The Spring Arts Show was launched last year with one exhibition and one painting workshop. The response was overwhelming and we need to grow.
For Spring Arts this year we’d like to introduce a major exhibition prize to foster new talent. We’d also like a program of art making for children and their parents and a range of adult skills sharing workshops of painting, printmaking and sculpture.
Along with these, we’d like to introduce a keynote address from one of Melbourne’s top gallery directors, an Art in Environment nature trail and a Walking Tour of art in people’s homes.
This is all very exciting but it all needs money to happen.
Beechworth is a beautiful town with a vibrant, creative community. Beechworth Arts Council’s dream is to put the town and region on the visual arts map by making the Beechworth Spring Arts Show a must see, annual visual art celebration for visitors, locals, art lovers and artists alike.
How The Funds Will Be Used
The majority of these funds will be used to promote the Beechworth Spring Arts Show to Indigo Shire visitors. To this end we'll be engaging a local graphic artist to help create an amazing poster and flier. But with an expanded program, we've also allocated a proportion of the funds for hall and venue hire. The figures are below.
The Challenges
The challenge for Beechworth Arts Council and our Spring Arts show is to manage the large number of artists and art lovers who flock to this event. Our volunteers are up to this challenge but in order to do Spring Arts 2017 justice, we need to hire extra exhibition space and importantly, get the word out. This is where you can help. Your generous donation will go directly to the Spring Arts Show and help to foster the creative life of Beechworth and surrounds.
